What is shabbat meaning?

Shabbat is the Jewish day of rest, observed from sundown on Friday to nightfall on Saturday. It is considered a day of spiritual and physical refreshment, during which Jewish people traditionally refrain from certain activities, such as work, commerce, and using electronics. Shabbat is viewed as a time to connect with family and friends, to study Torah, and to attend synagogue services. The observance of Shabbat is based on the commandment in the Torah to “remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy” (Exodus 20:8). It is one of the most important and widely observed Jewish holidays.
